Kiki van Eijk
Kiki van Eijk graduated cum laude from Design Academy Eindhoven where she became known for her “Kiki Carpet.” Today her collection of work is presented and sold in galleries, museums and fairs around the world. She finds great joy and importance in making things by hand. This attitude influences her more industrial projects as well. Kiki’s nostalgic approach combined with her poetic and personal style come to life in a wide range of projects such as ceramics, glassware, carpets, lighting, furniture, and luxury textiles. Kiki explains, “In these times of quick changes, I find it important to still stand by the everyday object that is made with love. Autonomy is very important in my work in order to have the freedom to be as personal as I like and to spend an extensive amount of time on a series of products to get the most original result and the best quality.”
In addition to her own collection, she works on projects for companies and institutions such as Studio Edelkoort Paris, Design Academy Eindhoven, Skitsch, Moooi, Moss Gallery, Ahrend, Royal Leerdam Crystal, BKKC, van Kempen & Begeer, Serax, Brainport Operations, Forbo Flooring, Venice Projects, Audax Textile Museum, Zuiderzee Museum Enkhuizen and many more. For two years Kiki has been the art director of the Design Academy restaurant “De Witte Tafel.” Her work is published internationally in publications including Wallpaper, Elle Decor, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, de Architect, Icon Magazine, Glamour and The International Design Year Book.
